夏から始まったバザープロジェクトは、「バザーって何？」「フリーマーケットってFreeじゃないの？」という素朴な疑問からスタートしました。

準備の中では、近くのスーパーへ出かけて商品の値段を調べたり、「どんなお店ならお客さんが来てくれるかな？」と話し合ったりしながら計画を進めてきました。
後半は、出品するものを持ち寄り、値札づくりや看板づくりにも挑戦。プリセールでは、外国人のお客さまにも対応できるよう、実際の売り買いを英語で練習しました。

子どもたちからは、タイムセールの導入や“Buy 1 Get 1 Free”などのサービス案もどんどん飛び出し、やってみたい気持ちはどんどん広がっています。

今回のバザーは、Jolly Life Englishとして初めての取り組み。第1回目の収益は、自分たちの学校に届ける本を選んで寄付したり、「子ども本の森」に届けたりする予定です。

みんなで協力して作り上げる楽しさ、自分たちの活動が誰かの役に立つ喜び——
この経験が子どもたちの心に温かい思い出として残ってくれたらと願っています。

Our Bazaar Project, which began this summer, started with simple questions like,
“What is a bazaar?” and “If it’s a free market, why isn’t everything free?”

As part of the preparation, the children visited a nearby supermarket to research prices and discussed what kind of shop would attract many customers.
Later, they brought items from home, made price tags, and created shop signs. During the pre-sale, they even practiced real buying and selling in English so they could confidently serve international visitors.

Their ideas kept growing — from adding time-sale events to offering Buy 1 Get 1 Free deals and little extras for customers. Their enthusiasm has been amazing.

This is the very first bazaar project for Jolly Life English. The proceeds from the event will be used to donate books to their own school and to Kodomo Hon no Mori (Children’s Book Forest).

The joy of creating something together,
the excitement of doing something that helps others —
